The Scenario Today

Today in the US, millions of people are literally addicted to Internet dating. When they get home from work, they spend entire evenings devoted to online dating. 'Net dating has become an addictive habit. Worse, most people are in no position to understand or come out of habit.

Online dating addiction is very high among woman. Many girls enjoy first meeting their potential partners through online chatting, and develop a pre-relationship that way.

Over time, slowly the Internet dates give rise to the growth of a certain level of emotional intimacy. Many people find online dating a nice option, because they get to know more about the person without disclosing even their identity. Moreover, 'Net dating helps people shed their inhibitions and get emotionally close with someone.

Impact on Women

Internet dating and its consequence can leave a great scar on the psyches of women. This is because online dating addicts fail to understand that such quick intimacy is not at all normal. Online dating changes the personality of a woman. It affects her self-worth, taking her to emotional places that can leave her needy and craving more.

Many women addicted to 'Net dating fail to realize how adversely their personalities can be affected. They do not accept the illogic of their approach, and fail to see the truth. People suffering with addictions do not accept reason.

Internet dating encourages women to believe in lies instead of facing reality. Women think that online dating fills their emptiness and makes them complete and emotionally fulfilled.

In some cases, women even decide to meet the men they've been chatting with online. Some of these meetings give rise to physical intimacy. This physical involvement leaves a deep emotional scar on many women. Sometimes these women carelessly expose themselves to men who are unhealthy, manipulative and eager for too much physical intimacy.

Some women addicted to online dating come to realize they are misusing their time, which could be utilized much more productively. In the end, it makes you feel guilty, and results in boredom. Internet dating costs a lot, physically and emotionally. The feelings of denial and negativity can then affect your relationships with your family and friends.

However, a real friendship can make you realize the unreality. Once you experience a real relationship, you will not go back to mere illusion. Most women are beginning to realize this, and are therefore getting a fresh beginning and living more honestly.

Yes, there are countless instances where men and women have found true friends, soul mates and even life partners through Internet dating. However, you have to be selective in exposing yourself on an Internet date, and get closer to someone only after running through checks. It is a good rule to meet the love potential in person as quickly as possible if you have an interest in them, but do so using common sense. It always better to be safe than sorry. Happy dating!
